Does anybody happen to know what an occasional table is the rest of the time?

Unusual one-liner, to ask a question. I don’t know the answer, but what I would use such a table for is to play cards if it is wide enough for four people.
Fair enough, but what if said table decided on a whim to go off and do its day job? Cards all over the floor. Good thing there’s no such thing as an occasional chair.
