This week, Jim is asking us to feature a song with an arresting opening line: one so familiar that you can ‘name that tune’ immediately. Perhaps it’s just my age, but most of the possibilities that sprang most immediately to mind were rock and roll classics. I see that Jim himself has chosen ‘Tutti-frutti’, but this was top of my list (coincidentally, ‘Tutti-frutti’ was the B-side of the original release of ‘Blue Suede Shoes’).

Excellent choice! Did you know yesterday was the anniversary of Elvis’ death? I was stunned to be reminded he was only 42 years old. He was 20 when he recorded this song. Incredible.
It is really nice to see a young Elvis, and this is a great song, but I do prefer the Carl Perkins version of this song.
