Bloganuary Day 31: Thank you and goodnight
How do you feel when you look at the stars?
“We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars” – Oscar Wilde
As a general rule, I’m not a great one for ‘aspirational’ quotations, but if it’s the divine Oscar then it must be worthwhile. It wouldn’t be much of an existence if we didn’t make some efforts to better it.
To some extent I’ve already responded to this final Bloganuary prompt when I wrote about having a sense of perspective. However, there are a few more prosaic feelings I get when I look at the stars:
- Cold – it must be night time after all.
- In pain – all that looking up gives me a crick in the neck.
- ‘That would make a good photograph’ – I’ve thought that many times but never done anything about it. I guess I should haul myself out of the gutter at some point.

Maybe.
