The four elements of the ancient world provide the prompts for Song Lyric Sunday this week.
This song by Bob Dylan, in conjunction with Rick Danko of The Band, appeared on The Basement Tapes in the mid-seventies, but is probably more familiar – at least in the UK – in the 1968 version by Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger and The Trinity, or more recently as the theme to the sitcom ‘Absolutely Fabulous’, but here’s the man himself performing live, and for once he doesn’t sound completely like a strangled cat.

Bob will never have a backing band like The Band again. It’s a beautiful song that he does well on here. The Band does a great version as well. Good choice for the prompt!
