Something on the chilly side is what Jim – from A Unique Title For Me – is looking for this week for Song Lyric Sunday.
So, just to get you all up and out of bed on a Sunday morning, here is one of Led Zeppelin’s forays into faux Norse mythology. Quintessential thunder rock from their third album.
We come from the land of the ice and snow
From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new land
To fight the horde and sing, and cry
Valhalla, I am coming
On we sweep with, with threshing oar
Our only goal will be the western shore
Ah, ah
We come from the land of the ice and snow
From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow
How soft your fields so green. Can whisper tales of gore
Of how we calmed the tides of war. We are your overlords
On we sweep with threshing oar
Our only goal will be the western shore
So now you’d better stop and rebuild all your ruins
For peace and trust can win the day despite of all your losing

Song Lyric Sunday 14 April 2018
I love this song, but I don’t think that Trump likes it, as he is still threatening to close the southern boarder.
I love the pounding beat on this as it conjures warriors attacking. I never met a bad Zep song. Good choice for the prompt.
One of the best songs ever in my opinion. Thanks for sharing it today.
