the only deadhead in the hameau 
I rarely believe
that true depth can be achieved
within a haiku.
I rather like your haiku, it is nice to see a change from the repetition of nature based poetry in this form.

No offence taken. In fact, I agree with you: the seemingly random juxtaposition of two observations is not necessarily made profound simply by being presented in the form of a haiku.
Exactly. Which is why I rarely write them and tend to prefer the wittier ones.
